Insider Tips for Disney's Hollywood
Studios
Check show times on the Hollywood
Studios Tips Board at the corners of
Sunset Boulevard and Hollywood Boulevard. It
will also post any visiting celebrities. Find
out what times the characters are meeting and
greeting.
I
particularly enjoy the Disney Hollywood Studios Backlot
Tour. This attraction usually has shorter lines
that are fast moving. This 45 minute tour will
take you behind the scenes of how movies are
filmed and you might even find yourself part
of the action! Plus, you will get a special
glimpse of Disney memorabilia that can't be
found elsewhere.
The young kids will enjoy the “Playhouse
Disney” show, featuring Bear in the Big
Blue House. The least crowded place to meet
Woody and Buzz Lightyear (Jessie and Bullseye)
are at Hollywood Studios Al’s Toy Barn. It is
located behind Mama Melrose’s Ristorante
Italiano. Find the store front with the big
sign that says Al’s Toy Barn.
These costumed cast members
do not talk, but pose for pictures, sign autographs,
and give hugs. Their autograph times are 10:15
am—1:45 pm and 4:15—5:15 pm, but
because of the hot costumes, they take breaks
during their autograph times too. You can find
these and other character times at the Hollywood Studios Guest Relations at Crossroad of the World.

Lights! Motors! Action Extreme Stunt
Show. It is a 35 minute motorcycle and car driving
performance. Be sure to get there first thing
in the day or get a FASTPASS. The theater holds
over 5000 Disney guests, but will fill to capacity
during the peak season. The stunt drivers in
the show are Disney cast members who tried out
and were then trained by stunt professionals. Now that is amazing!
Star Tours is one of the more popular attractions,
so make it one of your first stops as is Jim
Henson’s Muppet Vision 3-D.
Seating tip for the Fantasmic! show: the middle
to rear of the theater offers excellent views
without getting too close to the splashes and
heat of the show’s action. This is a don’t
miss show.
