Getting Disney World Resorts at a Discounted Price

Getting discounts at Disney World Resorts can be easier than you think. When you book your room, ask what discounts are available. Mention that you have the Disney Visa Card (American Express, AAA, AARP, Annual Pass); are military, government, teacher, nurse; the state you live in.

Resorts at Disney WorldSometimes there are unadvertised specials at Disney World Resorts. If a room is not available at the time you want, the manager may offer you a discount at another hotel; ask if he does not.

If Disney World makes a special discount available at the resorts, and you have already booked your room, you can get the discount. Leave your email address at the time of your reservation for information updates so you will learn of any discounts that are announced.

If your vacation occurs at a time the Disney World Resorts are not full, ask when you check in if you could be upgraded for the same price.

If you stay at a Disney World Resort and are planning to spend your time only at Walt Disney World (not Sea World, Universal Studios, the beach, local restaurants), you may choose to economize by not renting a car if you are flying in since you will be eligible for the free Magical Express shuttle available through 2011.

Be aware that most resorts in the Disney World area allow only 4 guests per room. An exception will be made for a child under 3 in crib. If you have 5, you nearly double the cost of your hotel. Check the availability of suites if you are booking more than 4 guests.
